Browser & device support
Charios runs in any modern desktop browser. WebGL2 is required; mobile is preview-only for now.
Charios runs in any desktop browser that supports WebGL 2.0 — that's everything modern in active use.

Mobile
Mobile is preview-only. You can sign in, view your projects, and watch animations play in the preview canvas. The editor's layer panel and right rail aren't laid out for narrow screens — they show but you can't comfortably edit on a phone.
Tablet (iPad, Surface, ChromeBook with touchscreen) works for everything except dragging precise transforms. Touch + drag works; the floating toolbar is touch-friendly.
Performance expectations
- Modern laptop / desktop (2020+) — 60 fps for everything including anim-check 9-cell view.
- Older hardware (2015-2019) — 60 fps for single-rig editing; anim-check may drop to 30 fps with 9 cells.
- Integrated graphics on a 4K display — performance can degrade. Lower the browser zoom or use a smaller window.
WebGL 2.0 requirement
Charios uses Pixi v8 which requires WebGL 2. If your GPU or driver only supports WebGL 1, the editor will refuse to load with a message explaining why. The fix is usually a driver update or, on very old hardware, a different machine.
Browser extensions
Most extensions are fine. Known issues:
- Aggressive ad-blockers can break our analytics and Polar checkout. Whitelist
charios.comif you're seeing checkout errors. - Tab-suspender extensions put background Charios tabs to sleep. Saves still happen on the next foreground; nothing's lost.
