The same motion, every character.
Inspecting retargeted onto six sample characters.
Because the clip is keyed to the rig โ not the artwork โ the exact same keyframes drive every character you import into Charios. Knight, mage, mascot, civilian: same motion, zero per-character cleanup.

How this inspecting animation is built
Captured in 3D, retargeted to 2D, exported everywhere.
The source clip is a Mixamo-compatible humanoid motion. Charios ingests the FBX, samples each bone at 30 fps, and retargets the rotations onto its 2D side-view skeleton โ preserving timing, weight, and contact frames while collapsing the depth axis the way a 2D animator would.
Frames are then blended for readability so silhouettes stay crisp, especially around limb crossings. The resulting clip drives any 2D character built on the Charios humanoid rig โ try it in the sample playground.
Inspecting is authored as a seamless loop, so it pairs cleanly with movement states (idle, walk-cycle, run-cycle) in any state machine โ Unity Animator, Godot AnimationPlayer, or Charios's own scene.

About Inspecting
What is a 2D inspecting animation?
A 2D inspecting animation is a motion clip that drives a flat, side-view character rig. Charios's version is retargeted from a 3D mocap source onto a humanoid 2D skeleton so the timing matches what motion-capture studios produce, but the result reads cleanly in 2D.
Can I use Inspecting in Unity or Godot?
Yes โ export as Unity .anim or Godot .tres and drop the clip on any rig that maps to the Charios humanoid bone set. FBX, BVH, glTF, and Spine JSON are also available for other pipelines.
Is this clip royalty-free?
Once exported on a Pro plan, the clip is yours to use in any commercial or non-commercial project โ no per-seat or per-title royalties.
Does Inspecting loop?
Yes โ Inspecting is authored as a seamless loop. Drop it into your state machine and let it cycle without a visible seam.
